Siemens have successfully completed the total integration of the Telecommunications and Fibre Optic Transmission System for the Muglad Oil Basin Project in Sudan, stretching for 1600 km from the oil producing areas in the South of Sudan to the export facilities at Port Sudan on the Red Sea.

The supply included: 1750 km of Fibre Optic Cable, the Fibre Optic Transmission Equipment including Solar Powered Underground Repeaters and Water Cooled Shelters at River Crossings using Siemens Solar Panels, Telecommunications Towers for a Trunked Radio System, Single Sideband Radio System, Marine VHF/FM Radio, Aeronautical VHF/AM Radio, PABX Systems and VSAT Satellite Links to Khartoum MCC and Non-direction Beacon Systems.
